BIOGRAPHY
John T. McCann
John T. McCann was born Sept. 21, 1912 in New York City, son of the late Christopher and Ellen Moran McCann. He had a brother Bernard and two sisters Mary and Eleanor. John attended Greenwich schools and was a graduate of Greenwich High School.
In Rye his family lived at Highland Hall and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. John enlisted in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
A resident of Rye since 1942, he was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific area. He married Janet Coughlin and they had one son.
John was employed in the sales department of Yale A Towne Manufacturing Co. in Stamford until the firm moved from the area.
He was a member of the Rye Fire Department and a member of the Church of the Resurrection.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held June 12, 1978 at the Church of the Resurrection for John Thomas McCann, 65, of Highland Hall, who died June 8 at United Hospital. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Janet Coughlin McCann of the home address; a son, Kevin McCann of Staten Island; two sisters, Mrs. Mary McDonald and Miss Eleanor McCann, both of Fishkill. N. Y. He was predeceased by a brother, Bernard McCann.
